About Us

We're a couple of guys who've been playing games for as long as we can remember. This is our blog.

Our story

Where do we begin? Well let’s start at the beginning, our first ventures into gaming. Dave and myself Karl met at school and became best friends, asking our parents for the same games consoles each release so we could play the same games!

We both loved Nintendo and remained fiercely loyal to them starting with the NES, SNES, N64 and Gamecube. Both big lovers of Mario, still to this day the best game ever for me is Super Mario World on the SNES. We both loved football so we couldn’t get enough of the Pro Evo series and if you had a chipped PS2 (Sorry Sony!) Winning Eleven with the English patch applied. Great days! Before FIFA ruined football games with it’s lootbox rubbish (that’s another story … ).

Our recent purchases have been a PlayStation 5 and then the Series X. Luckily we managed to bag them on Amazon launch days so didn’t have to go through the pain of scalpers. If you’re one of them and you’re reading this, shame on you! profiting from the misery of people trying to buy a games console.

So what are we loving about the next gen consoles? Pretty much everything! 120hz gaming, quick resume, super smooth gameplay and crisp visuals. The first year is now done and we’re expecting some real big things to come now the devs have started to get the hang of the architecture. We’ve already seen some masterpieces in Ratchet and Clank and Forza Horizon 5. Some stunners on the way, particularly Horizon: Forbidden West – Dave loved the original on the PS4 and has gone through it again on the PS5 after they gave us a lovely patch enabling 60fps. Out in Feb and definitely one to watch out for.

What are we looking forward to? For one, PS5 VR. We’re expecting something special from the guys at Sony and hopefully some great backing on the games front. Next is Gamepass, this seems to be getting better and better and we can see Microsoft putting some serious backing in to it as they’ve finally hit the sweet spot with their hardware and software. On the PC gaming front DDR5 memory has arrived and with the impending arrival of the 40x series of Nvidia cards coming I think we’re going to see some amazing things on the PC.

In summary, it’s a great time to be a gamer, hope you all get something of use from our blog. Enjoy!
